The 11th Monaco MouseTrap Car Grand Prix was a success, attracting students aged 14 to 18 from Europe, Africa, the USA, and Latin America. Under the High Patronage of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco, the event encourages young people to engage with engineering by constructing mini car prototypes using mousetraps. The final race took place at the Riva tunnel, with 15 teams of students participating after passing the selection process. This year, the youngest team was made up of 12-year-olds Margherita Mangione and Alessio Maconi, led by their experienced teacher Angelica Poltronieri from Monza. They presented an interesting prototype and announced that their school would be adding a specialist STEM program. The Best Design award went to Matteo Gangemi and Nicolò Valenzisi, students guided by Professor Alberto Renzi from the Geometri school in Ventimiglia. The Togo team received a special award for Aquarama elegance. The French team from Nice’s Lycée Apollinaire won the race, breaking a record by completing it in under 3 seconds. The event concluded with organizer Marco Casiraghi thanking the teachers who contribute to helping young people develop their skills. The next edition of the Monaco MouseTrap Car Grand Prix will take place in 2025, and registrations are already open for all students.
