On May 2, 2024, Ambassador Valérie BRUELL-MELCHIOR presented her letters of credence to Secretary-General Louise MUSHIKIWABO of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) at the organization’s headquarters. Following the ceremony, a private audience was held, during which the Secretary-General acknowledged the commitment of H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince and the Principality of Monaco to the OIF. They also discussed the upcoming XIX Francophonie Summit, a conference for French-speaking countries’ heads of state and government, which will take place in October in Villers-Cotterêts and Paris, and is expected to be a major international event in 2024. In her remarks, the Ambassador reiterated Monaco’s support for the OIF’s activities, particularly in areas where the organization brings added value, such as the empowerment of women and the education of young girls, especially in the Sahel region, as well as sustainable tourism.
