Histoire complète :
Prince Albert II of Monaco has inaugurated the exhibition “Mediterranea: Visions of an Ancient and Complex Sea” organized by the Dante Alighieri Society of Monaco in collaboration with the RAMOGE, ACCOBAMS, and PELAGOS International Agreements secretariats. The exhibition, which will be open to the public until March 30, is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Monaco and curated by Viviana Panaccia. It showcases advanced satellite imagery provided by the Italian Space Agency, the European Space Agency, and Telespazio/e-GEOS, creating a fascinating dialogue between science and the past. The exhibition highlights the beauty of the Mediterranean while drawing attention to its vulnerabilities and the tangible signs of climate change. Special emphasis is placed on the RAMOGE, ACCOBAMS, and PELAGOS international agreements that protect the Cetacean Sanctuary, a protected marine area in the Mediterranean. “Mediterranea” serves as both a tribute to this sea and an invitation to reflect on its future and the need for preservation. A conference will be held on March 6 at the Auditorium Rainier III, where the exhibition and the Mediterranean will be further discussed, and the international treaties for the protection of the sea will be presented.
