Histoire complète :
The Association Dante Alighieri of Monaco presents “Mediterranea: Visions of an ancient and complex sea,” a captivating photographic exhibition that explores the history, beauty, and challenges of the Mediterranean Sea, a true “aquatic” continent.

The exhibition takes place at the Galerie des Pêcheurs in Monaco Ville and will be open to the public from February 7th to March 30th, 2025.

In collaboration with RAMOGE, ACCOBAMS, and PELAGOS, the exhibition offers a unique perspective on this extraordinary sea, highlighting its historical and cultural importance, as well as the dangers it faces.

“Mediterranea” takes visitors on a visual and narrative journey, recounting the ancient civilizations that inhabited its shores, the myths and legends that still surround it today, and its invaluable natural resources.

However, the Mediterranean is not just a sea of history and beauty. The exhibition also emphasizes the environmental challenges it must face, such as pollution, climate change, and maritime traffic, which threaten its fragile ecosystem.

One of the most innovative aspects of the exhibition is the use of unprecedented satellite images obtained through cutting-edge space technology. These shots allow for an unprecedented perspective of the Mediterranean, revealing surprising details about its currents, biodiversity, and the effects of human activity.

Thanks to this synergy between science, art, and environmental awareness, the Mediterranea exhibition is not only a tribute to a sea that has united peoples and cultures for millennia but also a call for collective responsibility to protect it. The exhibition invites visitors to immerse themselves in the wonders and complexities of one of the most extraordinary seas on the planet.
