AS Monaco suffered a close defeat (0-1) against Servette Genève in their opening preparatory match. Despite good intensity and a few chances in the first half, Monaco failed to find the net against Servette Genève, the recent winners of the Swiss Cup.

Hütter took the opportunity to make extensive substitutions, providing playing time to a large portion of the squad, including several talented youngsters from the Elite Group.
