Under the presidency of Princess Caroline, this tradition in Monaco will celebrate classical music from March 2 to April 27, 2025. The official presentation of the program took place at the Princess Grace Theater on December 13. The conference unveiled a rich and original program, with a special focus on the centenary of French composer Pierre Boulez. The festival will explore the connections between music, literature, and visual arts. The artwork chosen for this edition is Francis Bacon’s Study for Portrait (1971). On March 26, the European Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Bruno Mantovani, will perform several iconic works by Pierre Boulez. The festival will also showcase the composers admired and directed by Boulez, such as Wagner, Bruckner, Bartók, Stravinsky, Ravel, Debussy, Schönberg, Berg, Webern, Berio, Stockhausen, and Messiaen. The lineup includes prestigious orchestras and ensembles, such as the Monte Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra, the BBC Symphony Orchestra, and the Court-Circuit ensemble. Pianist François-Frédéric Guy will be featured, along with composer and pianist Hervé Sellin. The festival will also include film screenings and various events where the public can learn more about Boulez’s life and contribution to contemporary music. In total, there will be 25 concerts, over 400 artists, and more than 80 works performed throughout the festival.
