Full Story:
The 6th edition of the European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR) will take place in Monaco from November 16th to November 24th, 2024. The theme for this year’s event is “Food Waste” and the slogan is “Waste is out of taste.” The goal of EWWR is to encourage eco-responsibility by promoting sustainable consumption practices and reducing waste production.

To mark the occasion, the Environmental Department, in partnership with the Urban Development Department, the Monaco Municipality, and the Monaco Sanitation Company, will organize a village for the EWWR on November 20th and 21st. The village will feature around fifteen stands dedicated to various waste reduction activities, including food waste, circular economy, repair, recycling, and environmental awareness.

In addition, the Environmental Department will continue their successful collection campaigns from previous editions of EWWR. They will collect underwear and glasses at designated drop-off points outside the Fontvieille Shopping Center. This year, they are launching a new campaign targeting hair salons. During EWWR, hair salons are encouraged to save all the hair they cut and send it to the Association Coiffeurs Justes, who will repurpose this natural resource for pollution solutions.

To learn more about the events and activities planned for EWWR 2024, the full program is available on the “Your Monaco” mobile application and in the press release accessible through the provided link.
