Eric Arella has been appointed as the Head of Public Security in Monaco, succeeding Richard Marangoni, who has held the position for eight years. Arella, who began his career as a police commissioner at the age of 23, has served more than 37 years with the French national police, specializing in criminal investigations. He has held various leadership positions within the police, including Director of Regional Criminal Police in Ajaccio and Director of the Regional Criminal Police Service in Marseille. In 2023, he was appointed as the Coordinator of Inter-Departmental Missions and Services for the construction of a new police station in Marseille. With his extensive experience and existing collaborations between the judicial police services he oversaw and the Public Security Directorate, Arella is expected to bring his professionalism, integrity, and enthusiasm to enhance security and quality of life for the people of Monaco. Meanwhile, Richard Marangoni, who has worked his way up through the ranks of the Public Security Directorate, will assume the role of Special Advisor to the Minister of Interior.
