Full Story:
Diane Van Es has set a new European record in the 5 Km race at the Monaco Run. The race was won by Likina Amebaw from Ethiopia for the second consecutive year, with a new event record of 14:33. However, it was Diane Van Es who stole the show by running the fastest 5 Km ever by a European woman, finishing in 14:39. It’s worth noting that all three European records for the 5 Km race have been set on the Monaco course.

Cassandre Beaugrand, the Olympic triathlon champion and member of AS Monaco Athlétisme, also had an impressive performance. She finished in 4th place with a time of 14:53, setting a new French record for the discipline. The race was cheered on by a large crowd gathered on Quai Albert 1er.

In the men’s race, Isaac Kimeli from Belgium came close to breaking the European record for the distance, falling just three seconds short (13:15). He was closely followed by Frederik Ruppert from Germany and Djilali Bedrani from France, who finished in 13:21 and 13:22 respectively.

With 27 participants in the 5 Km race, AS Monaco once again demonstrated their presence on the streets of the Principality this morning.
