The traditional commemoration Mass of Saint Sebastian, the patron saint of the Monaco Carabinieri, took place this morning in the presence of H.S.H. Prince Albert II. The solemn Mass, celebrated by Archbishop Dominique-Marie David, was held at the Monaco Cathedral. The Minister of State, Didier Guillaume, was honored during the Mass. The Minister’s casket will remain displayed in the Chapel of Mercy until the funeral, which will be held on Thursday at 11 am, also at the Cathedral. In response to the Minister’s passing, the Sovereign declared a national day of mourning with flags flying at half-mast throughout the Principality. Although public employees may wear dark attire, all public and private offices and schools will operate as usual.
