Starting from June 1st, 2024, Italian employees living in Italy will be allowed to telework for businesses based in Monaco. This change is made possible by an Amendment No. 1 to the General Social Security Convention signed between Monaco and Italy. The amendment, signed on May 10, 2021, aims to define telework, increase work flexibility, and meet the recruitment needs of companies. Italian employees will now have new job opportunities and enjoy the same social benefits as their colleagues residing in Monaco. To formalize the agreement between employers and employees, a work contract or amendment will be required, with the obligation for employees to be physically present in the company for at least one-third of their working time to maintain necessary team connections.
