Full Story:
Monaco will host the start of the Spanish cycling race La Vuelta in 2026. The official announcement and signing of the agreement took place at the Yacht Club in the presence of Prince Albert II of Monaco. The agreement was signed by the Minister of State, Pierre Dartout, the Director General of Amaury Sport Organisation, Yan Le Moenner, and the Director General of La Vuelta, Javier Guillén. This will mark the fourth time that La Vuelta will begin its race outside of Spain, following previous starts in Portugal, the Netherlands, and France. The inaugural stage of the race will take place entirely in Monaco and will also kick off the second stage of La Vuelta 26. Monaco has previously hosted the start of the Tour de France in 2009 and will play a crucial role in the Tour de France 2024 by hosting the final time trial stage between Monaco and Nice.
