Summary:
A retrospective exhibition titled “Hubert Clerissi: Espaces Ciselés” has been inaugurated in Monaco, showcasing the work of the Monegasque artist and his combination of architectural precision and expressive landscapes.
Full Story:
The mayor of Monaco, Georges Marsan, inaugurated an exhibition dedicated to the Monegasque artist Hubert Clerissi. Titled “Hubert Clerissi: Espaces Ciselés,” the retrospective showcases Clerissi’s work as a painter inspired by his family’s heritage and his father’s authority as an architect. Throughout his artistic career, Clerissi moved away from architecture to give the line a structural and liberating role. His paintings of urban landscapes combine architectural precision and expression, creating a connection between order and emotion. The exhibition is supported by Nadia Omiecinski, the artist’s daughter, along with curator Leah Friedman and set designers Maria Magdalena David and Illona Rougemond-Mosconi. It is free and open to the public at the Exposition Hall of Quai Antoine1er until March 12th. The exhibition offers a glimpse into Clerissi’s fragile and hesitant universe, portrayed through his delicate watercolors.
