Full Story:
The Comité pour la promotion et la protection des droits des femmes (Committee for the Promotion and Protection of Women’s Rights) will be celebrating International Women’s Day on March 8, 2025, with an event called POWHER. Taking place at the Espace Léo Ferré from 10 am to 8 pm, this year’s edition will focus on the image and representation of women in the media, including cinema, advertising, video games, and painting.
The event will feature exhibitions, a gaming area, a cosplay workshop, an escape game, and family-friendly performances. The goal is to create a day that combines fun and education, showcasing the evolution of women’s portrayal over time and promoting gender equality.
Actress and director Audrey Dana will serve as the event’s godmother. She will participate in a panel discussion on the representation of women in the arts and media, joined by streamer and E-sports champion Kayane, former cosplayer turned fashion designer Harmony Larcher, and artist painter and ambassador for women’s rights Toby Wright.
The Committee has enlisted the help of other ambassadors for women’s rights, including Cédric Biscay, who designed the event poster and provided expertise for the panel discussion and gaming and cosplay areas. Hassan de Monaco selected three up-and-coming artists for the comedy show that will conclude the day, and Anthony Alberti, also known as Mr One Teas, created the photobooth backdrop for visitors to take home unique souvenirs of their participation.
Additional activities will be available on-site, and admission is free. For more information about the event, visit [https://dfm.mc/evenement/powher-2025/].
