Monaco has been awarded the European Energy Award Gold (EEA Gold) for its energy transition efforts. This prestigious recognition acknowledges the Principality’s commitment to exemplary energy and climate policies. With an impressive score of 80.2%, Monaco joins a select group of territories that have achieved this level of excellence.
The EEA Gold label is given to territories actively working to reduce their carbon footprint, preserve biodiversity, and adapt to climate change. It represents the highest European recognition for territories implementing their Climate-Energy Plan.
This achievement is the result of interdisciplinary collaboration between various government departments, as well as the Municipality of Monaco. Together, they have worked diligently to reach this ambitious goal.
The certificate was presented to the representative of Monaco in Bolzano.
