Full Story:
Monaco has introduced a tool to measure the scale of violence within couples and among young people in schools. The goal is to provide professionals with a tool to raise awareness among victims and help them better recognize situations of violence or danger they may be facing. The tool, titled “Scale of Violence to Help Measure the Level of Violence in a Couple,” has three levels: Serenity, Alarm, and Danger, and provides examples of typical behaviors for each level, including psychological, economic and administrative, physical, and sexual violence. The pocket-sized brochure also includes an English translation and useful contacts available in the Principality. It has been made available to professionals in various departments including Social Action and Support, Princess Grace Hospital Center, Association for Assistance to Victims of Criminal Offenses (AVIP), Public Safety Department, National Education, Youth and Sports Department, Judicial Services Department, and Bar Association. A version for young people has also been developed, using language and examples relevant to forms of violence such as cyber-violence, psychological, physical, and sexual violence. Starting in November, the brochure will be used by the National Education, Youth and Sports Department as part of the monthly campaign against harassment.
