The documentary film “La Flamme de la Paix – Peace and Sport Around the World” was screened on Thursday evening at the Princess Grace Theater in the presence of H.S.H. Prince Albert II, Joel Bouzou, President and Founder of Peace and Sport, Marlene Nidecker, Representative of Champions of Peace and Olympic Taekwondo medalist, Jean-Jerome Perrin-Mortier, CEO of Peace and Sport, and several officials from the Principality.
This 52-minute documentary, produced by the Prince’s Government Communications Department, explores the origins of this unique organization, highlighting its history, successes, challenges, and the human encounters behind each project.
“Sport is much more than a spectacle; it is a solution, a driver of peace based on fairness and respect. This vision, shared with H.S.H. Prince Albert II, is illustrated in this documentary through the concrete actions carried out around the world,” said Joel Bouzou.
Over the course of one year, a Monaco Info team accompanied Peace and Sport in their training and advocacy missions around the world. From Monaco to the Middle East, Latin America, India, and the African continent, this documentary sheds light on the work of Peace and Sport.
“The idea behind this documentary was to use our knowledge to serve a vision, that of H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince, the vision of sport as a tool for peace and development: to show what we do is to demonstrate through evidence,” explained Genevieve Berti, Director of Communications, following the screening.
Testimonials enhance a story that began in Monaco in 2007 and is now being written around the world. Beneficiaries of the Peace and Sport methodology worldwide share the impact of peace ambassadors in their environments. Beyond being a diplomatic model, Peace and Sport is also a reflection of Monaco, aspiring to be the global capital of sport in service to peace.
