Full Story:
CFM Indosuez Wealth Management, in collaboration with Crédit Agricole CIB, has donated €51,000 to the Fondation Flavien and the Centre Scientifique de Monaco for pediatric cancer research. The donation will support the “Stem Cells and Brain Tumors” team at the Centre Scientifique de Monaco, led by Dr. Vincent Picco. This donation was made possible through a special investment proposal offered by CFM and Crédit Agricole’s socially responsible customers. Crédit Agricole CIB is a leading global provider of green, social, and sustainable bonds. Mathieu Ferragut, CEO of CFM Indosuez, stated that their group, along with the Fondation Flavien and the Centre Scientifique de Monaco, shares a commitment to helping vulnerable children. Dr. Picco explained that pediatric cancers are mostly composed of cells similar to embryonic cells, suggesting a disruption in the development of the nervous system. To overcome the challenges of studying these phenomena, the Monaco team has partnered with Dr. Eric Röttinger and his team at the Institut de Recherche sur le Cancer et l’Vieillissement in Nice, who specialize in cancer research using the sea anemone Nematostella vectensis. This genetically similar invertebrate will help provide insight into the origin and nature of pediatric tumors, with the ultimate goal of developing specific and less toxic therapies.
