Full Story:
Monaco, together with Nice, Aix-Marseille, and Paris, is collaborating to provide training in Monégasque law. The Monégasque legal system, while similar to French law, has its own specificities. Yesterday, the Palace of Justice in Monaco hosted the signing of the new and first-ever Interuniversity Diploma (DIU) in Monégasque Law. This partnership between the Monaco Institute of Training for Judicial Professions (IMFPJ) and the Law Faculties of Côte d’Azur and Aix-Marseille Universities represents a significant step in the development of Monégasque law and for future legal professionals in the Principality.

During the ceremony, Secretary of State for Justice Sylvie Petit-Leclair and Professor Jeanick Brisswalter, President of the University of Côte d’Azur, signed this ambitious educational partnership. The collaboration aims to provide students with specialized training in Monégasque law as part of their traditional curriculum, offering them a strong institutional and legal background to better understand the specificities of the Monégasque legal system.

Starting in September 2024, law students from Nice and Aix-Marseille Universities will have the opportunity to enroll in this innovative three-year program. In September 2025, the University of Paris-Panthéon-Assas will also join this academic partnership.

Registrations for the program will open on September 2nd and close on September 15th.
