Full Story:
Monaco recently hosted the fourth round of the E1 Series, the world’s first fully dedicated championship for electric boats. Set against the backdrop of the picturesque Port Hercule, the nine teams showcased their modern, silent, and fast electric boats in this unique competition.
Rodi Basso, the co-founder and CEO of E1, highlighted the exclusivity of this event, stating that E1 is the only world championship dedicated to electric boats. With a 25-year license to organize competitions using this sustainable technology, the E1 Series aims to promote zero emissions and minimal disruption to marine life, as their boats produce no waves and emit very low noise levels.
The races in the E1 Series go beyond mere technology, focusing on intense competition that demands skill and strategy from the pilots. Each team consists of one male and one female driver, with their times combined to determine the overall performance. The use of a boost system that allows speeds to increase from 40 to 50 knots adds an additional strategic element to the race.
Tom Brady’s team, represented by Sam Coleman and Emma Kimilainen, secured their third victory in the E1 Series at the recent event in Monaco. The competition featured nine teams, each supported by a celebrity figure such as Rafael Nadal, Will Smith, or Marc Anthony. Brady’s team emerged triumphant in an exciting final race.
The next destination for the E1 Series will be Lake Como on August 24th for the fifth round of the season.
