A volume titled “I Doria di Dolceacqua e i Grimaldi di Monaco” will be presented at the Old Fund of the Aprosiana Library in Ventimiglia Alta on August 2nd. The book, published by the International Institute of Ligurian Studies in collaboration with the Municipality of Dolceacqua, commemorates the 500th anniversary of the loyalty agreement signed on November 3, 1523. The event will feature speeches by the curator, Alessandro Carassale, as well as the mayor of Ventimiglia, Flavio Di Muro, the cultural councillor of Ventimiglia, Serena Calcopietro, the mayor of Dolceacqua, Fulvio Gazzola, and Dr. Daniela Gandolfi from the International Institute of Ligurian Studies. The volume, curated by Alessandro Carassale, includes contributions from French and Italian scholars and researchers, exploring the historical connection between Dolceacqua, Val Nervia, and the Principality of Monaco. It also includes a preface by Prince Albert II of Monaco. The event is organized in collaboration with the “Agosto Medievale” festival and will be open to the public with evening exhibitions of ancient books on August 2nd and 3rd.
